Letting loose.

After our delicious dinner at the Star, we headed to the Western bar to kill time before our melody hour at the local noraebang (singing room). It was Kelsey's last weekend in Korea before heading back to the States for 3 weeks, so we had to celebrate with karaoke. Noraebangs are a great way to kick back with friends after a long work week. They are all over Korea and are quite popular. So we picked up Stuart, John, and Matt, and headed over with Helen and Kelsey. We made sure to properly prepare chemically before getting to the noraebang, to ensure a jolly experience. Paul really got into it (he sang "Ain't no Sunshine", "Every Rose has its Thorn", "Stayin' Alive", "One", and "Piano Man", among others--he stayed strong throughout the night and didn't want to leave!), and I even got up for a couple numbers ("Dancing Queen" and "Aubrey", which they actually had!). Most of us are pretty awful singers, but it's fun to sing really loud with a bunch of folks, especially to Western tunes that you don't often hear here. You can rent the room for about $10 per hour (for the group), and the owners usually give you additional time for free. It's a lot less intimidating than singing in front of an entire bar! We had a great time and didn't get home until 4.
