Dark Destroyer 916.
The Dark Destroyer 916 is also part of the Unification Park Museum (along with the NK submarine). This ship was built in the USA in 1945 and donated to the SK government in 1972. The ROK (Republic of Korea) navy used this ship for 27 years, from '72 - '99. It's seen WWII, the Korean War, and the Gulf War. It's the only warship on display on land in the world...whoa!
No, actually, it's pretty cool. You can tour most of the inside and the deck (you can peer inside 17 of the 29 rooms!--bunk rooms, kitchen, dispatch room, etc.), and the bottom floor has display cases with war history and artifacts. Plus, it's set between the beautiful blue Eastern Sea and the high cliffs.
Ahoy there, sailor!
So young, so innocent...these kids reminded me of when I used to climb on the war tanks at Cantigny in Wheaton.
The "Turtle Ship" (so named for its impenetrable spiked covered metal deck)
