A package from the States!

Last Friday as I was prepping for classes, Won Gi (one of our directors) handed me a large air mail parcel. Paul's cousin Bethany and her husband Jamie had sent us our very first package! Getting mail is always fun (and I do enjoy getting mail--I just need to learn to send more of it myself!) and this was quite a surprise. It also came at the end of an extremely stressful week of teaching, so I was quite pleased. Bethany and Jamie complied with our (read: my) request for chocolate and even sent a hilarious card (which is also special since there are no funny greeting cards in Korea, unless you count the ones that make you laugh because of the really poor English on them).
Bethany and Jamie, thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and for remembering us here in Korea! We really appreciate that you mailed us some love--we can feel it over here!
This weekend we also got together with our friend Kelsey, who recently returned from a 3-week trip home to Oregon and to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She brought us a much-anticipated block of Tillamook cheddar and some OTC cold meds (which are hard to get here--you gotta have a prescription in Korea for stuff like Nyquil), and also some Extra gum (for Paul...the gum in Korea also leaves something to be desired). So we are currently enjoying our little stash, and also trying to exercise a modicum of self-control to make it last.
