April festival at Yeongnangho.

Ara and Connor walking the trail around Yeongnangho
Beautiful blossoms

Last weekend there was a spring festival at Yeongnang Lake. Since Paul was under the weather, I went with Ara and Connor, and we later met up with Kirsty and Helen.
This was actually a pretty cool festival. There were many tents set up in a field behind the lake, with food vendors, craft stations, and traditional Korean art. There were many games going on as well, from lawn darts to archery to mini-gladiator competitions. We saw many of our kids from A.P. there, and we were happy to see them outside breathing fresh air and having fun (since so often they're stuck inside an academy!). Instead of studying studying they were eating ice cream, laughing with their friends, working diligently at a drawing contest, decorating umbrellas with their parents, and riding horses.
We walked around for several hours, enjoying the snow white cherry blossoms, traditional Korean dancing and music, and just watching the attenders play with their kids. This was the best Sokcho festival yet!
